Welcome to KAUST. This guide will help you get started with the digital tools and services you will use as a staff member. From accessing email and collaboration tools to connecting remotely and getting support, everything you need is outlined below.
Staff email is hosted on Microsoft Outlook as part of Microsoft 365. Your email account is used for all official communication and login to many KAUST services.
If you encounter technical issues or need guidance, the IT Service Desk is available to assist you.
For remote support, use TeamViewer Quick Support. No installation or admin rights are required:
DUO 2FA adds a second layer of security to your KAUST login. It is required for accessing many KAUST applications and systems.
VPN access is required when working off campus or from a 4G network to connect to internal KAUST systems.
On personal devices, visit vpn.kaust.edu.sa to download the VPN client and follow the installation instructions.
Microsoft 365 is the primary platform for email, communication, document creation, and collaboration. It includes Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive, and SharePoint.
Each staff member receives 1 TB of cloud storage in OneDrive for secure document storage and sharing.
Use SharePoint to collaborate with teams, manage projects, and access department files.
Microsoft Teams is used for chat, meetings, file sharing, and team collaboration.
Use Webex to make and receive calls using your KAUST phone extension from your computer or mobile device.
