Overview
Cisco Webex helps KAUST community members schedule and join online meetings, collaborate with teams,
and connect from a laptop or mobile device. KAUST Single Sign-On (SSO) is enabled at
kaust.webex.com.
The Webex mobile app for iOS and Android lets you join meetings on the go and, if configured for
your account, place and receive calls using your KAUST extension.

- Training sessions and webinars using KAUST Webex Webinar services
- Mobile participation when traveling or away from your desk
How to Access and Sign In

Go to kaust.webex.com
- 2
Select Sign In and enter your KAUST email
- 3
You will be redirected to KAUST Single Sign-On. Sign in with your KAUST credentials.
Mobile Access
Install the Webex app from the Apple App Store or Google Play. Choose
Sign In, enter your KAUST email, then complete KAUST Single Sign-On.

Business Softphone (Extension Mobility)
The Business Softphone allows you to use your KAUST landline extension directly
from the Webex app on your laptop or mobile device. This is powered by Extension Mobility Services
and mirrors the calling capabilities of your office desk phone.

- Access voicemail and call history
- Transfer, merge, or hold calls
- Use the service when working remotely or off campus
WebEx AI Assistant
The Webex AI Assistant helps you stay focused and organized during meetings. It provides real-time
meeting summaries, highlights key discussion points, and can generate action items and transcripts
for review after the session.
- Follow along with real-time captions and summaries
- Catch up quickly if you join late with the “Catch Me Up” feature
- Review automated meeting notes and action items after the meeting
- Summaries and transcripts are available to meeting hosts based on settings
Note
You can manage or disable AI-generated notes and summaries from your meeting settings at any time.
Always ensure discussions and shared content comply with applicable KAUST policies and information
security requirements.

Sign in at kaust.webex.com

Select Schedule to set the date, time, and invitees, then send the invitation

At meeting time, open the invitation and select Join Meeting

Use the toolbar to mute, start video, share, open chat, or record if available
Tips and Best Practices
- Test your audio and camera before important meetings
- Use a headset for clearer audio in open spaces
- Share specific application windows to avoid showing sensitive content
- Record meetings only when appropriate and inform participants
- On mobile, join over Wi-Fi for better quality when possible
Accessibility features include live captions, screen reader support, and keyboard shortcuts.
Integration with Microsoft Tools
- Schedule or join meetings directly from Outlook using the Webex add-in
- Share Webex links in Microsoft Teams chats or channels for cross-platform collaboration
- Use Webex alongside Teams when collaborating with external organizations that rely on Cisco platforms
