What Is SSO and How Is It Used at KAUST?

Single Sign-On (SSO) is a secure authentication method that allows login to multiple systems using one KAUST account.

When enabled in a Formstack form, SSO restricts access to individuals with an active KAUST account, ensuring secure data collection and identity verification.

What Does SSO Autofill Do in Formstack?

SSO autofill allows predefined fields to be populated automatically once someone signs in. This improves accuracy and efficiency when completing forms.

The following fields can be autofilled through SSO:

  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • Email
  • Title
  • Department
  • Username
  • KAUST ID

How to Enable SSO Autofill on a Form

Important: Before enabling SSO, make sure the relevant fields (such as name, email, department, KAUST ID, etc.) already exist in your form. If these fields are not yet created, you will need to return later and click Edit SSO to complete the mapping process.

  1. Open the specific Formstack form where SSO autofill should be enabled.
  2. Click on Settings in the top menu.
  3. In the left-hand menu, select Security.
  4. In the Form Password dropdown, choose Single Sign-On (SSO).
  5. A new window will appear. Under Step 1: Select a Form Authentication, choose KAUST Login (SAML 2.0) from the dropdown menu.
  6. Once selected, Step 2: Map single sign-on autofill fields to your form (optional) will appear.
  7. Drag and drop fields from your form into the appropriate Map to Form Field sections such as:
    • Name
    • Email
    • Department
    • Phone Number
    • Username
    • KAUST ID
