Review Your Assigned Devices and Select Your Main Device

09 June, 2026

If you use a university-managed laptop or desktop, KAUST IT is asking you to take a few minutes to review the devices currently assigned to you in My IT Assets Services.

As part of this review, please select the device you use most often as your Main Device.

We are also asking you to check that the devices listed under your name are accurate. If you notice equipment that no longer belongs to you, appears incorrectly assigned, or is no longer needed, please let us know.

This review helps us maintain accurate device records, understand which devices are actively being used, and improve future planning for support, refreshes, and replacements.

What You Need to Do

The review only takes a few minutes:

  • Review the devices assigned to you
  • Select the device you use most often as your Main Device
  • Report any devices that appear incorrectly assigned to you
  • Return any university-owned devices that are no longer required

For most people, your Main Device will simply be the laptop or desktop you use every day for work, research, teaching, or study.

A Few Things to Keep in Mind

Selecting a Main Device does not automatically create a replacement request or guarantee a future upgrade.

If you only have one assigned device, you should still select it as your Main Device.

If you believe a device is incorrectly assigned to you, or you no longer need equipment listed under your name, please contact the IT Service Desk so the records can be reviewed and updated.
