Request a Microsoft Planner Plan

Microsoft Planner helps KAUST teams organize work visually using task cards, boards, and shared timelines. It integrates seamlessly with Microsoft 365 and is ideal for managing team projects, deliverables, and personal task lists.

Who can request?

Any member of the KAUST community with a KAUST email address (@kaust.edu.sa) — including students, faculty, staff, and researchers — is eligible to request a Microsoft Planner plan.

How to request

You can request a new Microsoft Planner plan using one of the following methods:

  • Open a ticket via VITA
  • Call the IT Service Desk at 012-808-0910 (or internally dial 910)
  • Visit the IT Walk-In Support Desk (Building 14, Level 2, Sunday–Thursday, 8 AM–12 PM or 1 PM–5 PM)

Information to include in your request

To process your request efficiently, please include the following:

  • Plan Name: A descriptive title for your plan
  • Purpose: Summary of the team or project goals the plan will support
  • Primary Owner(s): KAUST email(s) of the individual(s) responsible for managing the plan
  • Team Members: Who should be included in the plan (name and email)
  • Related Microsoft Group/Team: If this plan is tied to an existing Teams group or Outlook group, please specify

What happens next?

Once submitted, your request will be reviewed by the IT team. If additional clarification is required, you will be contacted. Once approved, the Microsoft Planner plan will be created and access details will be shared with the owner(s).
