Scheduled Maintenance: KAUST Office and Residential Phone Upgrade & Network Switch Upgrade

KAUST Community,

The following maintenance activities are planned to keep KAUST IT’s services reliable and performing well. Please review the schedule and expected impacts below.
KAUST Office Desk Phones and Residential Home Phones Upgrade
When Friday, 10 April 2026, 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM
Impact Office desk phones and residential home phones will be upgraded during this time. You may experience a temporary outage lasting approximately 10 to 15 minutes as the upgrade is completed in phases.

There will be no impact to ongoing calls, physical phone devices, or Webex services.
Action Required You can continue using your office phone through the KAUST Softphone (Cisco Webex), even during the upgrade. Alternatively, please use your mobile phone if needed.

When calling KAUST numbers from a mobile phone, remember to dial 012 before the number. For example, contact the IT Help Desk at 012-808-0910 instead of 910 or 808-0910.

Please do not disconnect or power off your phone during the upgrade, as this may cause issues and require manual support.
Network Switch Upgrade - Campus and Residential Areas
When Campus areas: 12 April to 19 April 2026, 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM
Residential areas: 20 April to 30 April 2026, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Impact Intermittent network disruptions may occur across campus and residential areas during the upgrade window.
Action Required No action is required. If you experience connectivity issues, please wait a few minutes and reconnect.
