Scheduled Maintenance: WiFi and Backup Services

The following maintenance activities are planned to keep KAUST IT’s services reliable and performing well. Please review the schedule and expected impacts below.

WiFi Service Update (All Networks)
When
Thursday, 16 April 2026, 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM
Impact
All KAUST WiFi networks (iCampus, UniFi, UniFi Guest, KAUST-IoT, and eduroam) will be updated during this time.

You may experience a very brief interruption in WiFi connectivity (a few seconds) as the update is applied.
Action Required
No action is required. If you experience a brief disconnect, simply reconnect and continue as normal.
Business and Research Data Backup Services Maintenance
When
Thursday, 16 April 2026, 3:00 PM to Sunday, 19 April 2026, 8:00 AM
Impact
Business data backup (MyFiles and KAUSTFiles) and research backup services (DataWaha) will be temporarily unavailable during the upgrade.
Action Required
Please avoid using backup services to back up or restore data during this time.

We recommend planning any backup or restore activities before or after the maintenance window.
