Use modules to load the applications available in the scientific application stack.

The list of supported Cadence sub-modules is ASSURA41, EXT91, EDI91, IC610, IUS82 and MMSIM72.
$ module load cadence/2017
$ virtuoso
Virtuoso can block on a Linux workstation with the following error message:
“Unable to start up Library Manager (libManager.exe) after 60 times. There may be an access or network problem. Start the Library Manager from an UNIX shell window to test the accessibility”
The error is due to /etc/hosts not being configured correctly. By default, /etc/hosts has the following line:
This line needs to be amended as follows:
Here, <workstation name> is the name of the workstation, for instance kw12022.
The background is when Virtuoso wants to start up the Library Manager, it first looks in /etc/hosts to see if it can find the workstation name there. If it does not find the workstation name there, the startup of the Library Manager fails. Virtuoso will try to start up the Library Manager 60 times, which will block CADENCE from starting.Here, <workstation name> is the name of the workstation, for instance kw12022.

Install Cadence Download Manager, to manage the base and update releases for Allegro 17.2 (or later) and Sigrity_2018, on Windows.
Using Cadence Download Manager
Download Manager lists the base and update releases available for download and installation.
Use the Internet option to download or install releases. The downloaded releases are stored in the specified local cache.
Use the Local Cache option to install releases available in the local cache. By default, the local cache is in your Windows roaming application data directory. You can change the directory using the Preferences form.
Select a listed release and click Download to store the release in your system.
Click Install to install a selected release. If the Start installation on completion of download option is selected in the Preferences form, installation starts automatically after download.
Click Refresh on the toolbar to update the status of the listed releases.
Click View current downloads on the toolbar to view and manage any releases that are being downloaded.
Click Change settings/preferences on the toolbar to display the Preferences form to specify download settings and to schedule automatic updates
