Engineering Equation Solver

Engineering Equation Solver

EES (pronounced 'ease') is a general equation-solving program that can numerically solve thousands of coupled non-linear algebraic and differential equations. The program can also be used to solve differential and integral equations, do optimization, provide uncertainty analyses, perform linear and non-linear regression, convert units, check unit consistency, and generate publication-quality plots. A major feature of EES is the high accuracy thermodynamic and transport property database that is provided for hundreds of substances in a manner that allows it to be used with the equation solving capability.

Step-by-step installation instructions

Installation steps

  1. Copy and save the 3225.dft file to a temporary directory on your computer. Do not modify this file.
  2. If EES was previously installed, delete all files in the existing EES installation directory.
  3. Run setup_ees_acad.exe on your computer.
  4. Copy the 3225.dft file from the temporary directory into the EES installation directory and rename it to EES.dft.
  5. Restart your computer.
  6. Launch the application and confirm that it is working correctly.
The license for this program is restricted only for CCRC team. The software should be installed with administrator rights for the user by following the instructions. If it is classroom, Software has to be installed through hadmin account. It needs a restart once installed. Please contact IT Servicedesk for more details or help.
