Match! is an easy-to-use software for phase identification from powder diffraction data, which has become a daily task in material scientists work. Match! compares the powder diffraction pattern of your sample to a database containing reference patterns in order to identify the phases which are present. Single as well as multiple phases can be identified based on both peak data and raw (profile) data. As reference database, you can apply the included free-of-charge COD database and/or ICSD/Retrieve (if you have a valid license), use any ICDD PDF product, and/or create a user database based on your own diffraction patterns. The user database patterns can be edited manually, imported from peak files, calculated from crystal structure data (e.g. CIF files), or imported from your colleague's user database.
Windows installation instructions
Users can download academic license file that was purchased by KAUST for Match! version 3, using which anyone can transform the Match! version 3 demonstration versions (which can be downloaded from web page) to our fully licensed versions.
Match! version 3 site license is a permanent license, We are entitled to download and install updates for the software until May 29, 2021 (Subscription period).
Close all Match! windows, then extract ("unzip") the attached file "license_Match!.zip" to some temporary directory on User's hard disk. Afterwards, please move the extracted file “yourlicense.lic” to the directory where you have installed the program (which is "C:\Program Files\Match3" by default). Note that you need administrator privileges to perform this task!
Finally, please verify again that the license file "yourlicense.lic" is really present in the Match! program directory, then run Match!. This can be done e.g. by double-clicking the file "Match!.exe" in the directory where you have installed the program (e.g. "C:\Program Files\Match3"). Alternatively, you can run the software by clicking the Windows "Start" button, then on "Match3/Match!".
Our license data should be displayed at the bottom of the splash screen (at program startup), to the right of the status bar at the bottom as well as in the "About Match!" dialog which can be opened from the "Help" menu. Do let us know (sso@kaust.edu.sa), If any issues or concern.
