KAUST uses a digital security certificate to protect your connection when accessing its wireless networks: iCampus, Uni-Fi, and eduroam. This certificate ensures that your device is connecting to a legitimate and secure KAUST authentication server, not an imposter network.
From time to time, this certificate is renewed to maintain high security and compliance standards. When that happens, you may see a prompt on your device asking you to accept or trust the new certificate before you can reconnect.
This is a normal part of staying secure on campus Wi-Fi. Accepting the certificate allows your device to continue connecting safely. The steps to accept it depend on your device and operating system.
If you're using an Android device:
1. Open the Settings app.
2. Tap Wi-Fi.
3. Select the iCampus, Uni-Fi, or eduroam network.
4. Enter your KAUST login credentials.
5. When prompted, tap Trust to accept the new certificate.
After completing these steps, your device will reconnect automatically going forward.
1. Click the Wi-Fi icon in the menu bar.
2. Select iCampus, Uni-Fi, or eduroam from the list.
3. Enter your KAUST login credentials.
4. A certificate prompt will appear. Click Continue to trust the new certificate.
You should now be connected, and the certificate will be remembered.
1. Click the Wi-Fi icon in the system tray (bottom right corner).
2. Select iCampus, Uni-Fi, or eduroam from the available networks.
3. Enter your KAUST login credentials.
4. A certificate warning may appear. Click Connect or Accept to proceed.
Windows will store the certificate, and you won’t be prompted again.
