Update to KAUST IT Self-Service on macOS
KAUST IT is rolling out a small update to the Self-Service application on KAUST-provided and managed macOS laptops and desktops.
Starting January 29, 2026, Self-Service will automatically upgrade to Self-Service+ (Self-Service Plus).
What is changing
A new application name
A new icon
An updated interface
No action is required. The functionality remains the same, and the update will be installed automatically by the IT Department.

What you might notice
After the update, the old Self-Service icon in your Dock may stop working or appear as a question mark ( ? ).
This typically means the Dock shortcut is still pointing to the old version. This is expected during the transition.
You will also see Self-Service+ in your Dock
Once the update is installed, you may notice the Self-Service+ icon appears on your Mac (for example, in your Dock). This is normal and helps you quickly open Self-Service+.
Example: Self-Service+ icon on macOS
If you see this icon, it simply means Self-Service+ is available on your Mac.
If the old Dock icon stops working
Pin the new Self-Service+ icon
Open Self-Service+ from Launchpad, or go to Finder > Applications.
Once the app is open, right-click the Self-Service+ icon in the Dock.
Select Options, then click Keep in Dock.

Right-click the old Self-Service icon in the Dock.
