The Information Technology Department would like to inform the KAUST IP Telephony users, that the existing Lock/Unlock application for KAUST IP desk phones«-Phone Lock» has reached its end of life cycle. If you are a user of the current Lock/Unlock application, you need to switch your desk phone to use the new application «Imagicle-PhoneLock».
What is Imagicle PhoneLock?
A Lock/Unlock desk phone application is a software solution for IP Telephones that prevents unauthorized use of the phone terminal by supplying a pin code. This application is used on telephone lines with external dialing enabled.
Internal KAUST telephone calls and calls to emergency numbers are never locked.
When is the upgrade happening?
The new application has already been deployed to phones that have the legacy lock/unlock function. The old application will no longer be available on the KAUST IP telephones from August 26.
How to Upgrade?
To switch over to the new application, kindly follow the below instructions:
1. If your phone is not locked by the current application «-Phone Lock», skip step #2 and proceed to step #3.
2. Please make sure you unlock your device before proceeding to the next step. For detailed instructions on how to unlock an IP telephone using the old service«-Phone Lock», please refer for the user guide available on the KAUST IT websitehere.
3. Select the new application on your desk IP telephone by pressing the «services»button on the phone keypad, using the navigation arrows, select the «Imagicle_PhoneLock»
