We would like to alert you about a recently confirmed iOS mail app vulnerability that impacts almost every iOS device (iPhones & iPads).

A serious exploit running through eight iOS generations has been confirmed by Apple; if you would like to read the full report and FAQs from ZecOps, Cybsecurity firm, you can do so here.

There is evidence of this vulnerability being exploited by cyber-criminals; therefore, we strongly urge you to disable the Mail app using these instructions and that you view your emails only on your desktop/laptop, or by using KAUST Webmail.

For anyone who urgently needs to have email access on their iOS devices, we have created a set of instructions for setting up the Outlook application.

Apple has confirmed it is working on patching up this security issue and we anticipate it to be released very soon. As always, we encourage you to keep your devices up-to-date with the latest software and security updates. We will inform you once the new patch is released.
