Our university has to adapt to a fast-changing threat landscape by using advanced technology and introducing new ways to detect and neutralize email threats. As such, new tools are being implemented to improve your experience with better email management functions and security features.
KAUST IT is pleased to inform the community of the following new security enhancements and services coming to your KAUST email:
- URL scanning:
- Links in Email: Malicious links in emails will be detected and blocked with a pop-up preventing access to the page.
- Attachment scanning:
- Attachments in Email: Malicious attachments found will be dropped and a notification will be sent about the incoming email. The email will be quarantined and can be released only by an admin.
- Bulk email identification:
- Bulk-Tag: Emails that are classified as bulk will now be tagged with a pre-fix: [Bulk]
- Smart alerts:
- Auto-Delete Feature: Our email firewall now has the capability to notify and delete confirmed phishing emails from your mailbox, emails that have been classified as a Phish upon reports from other KAUST members.
- Alert for action: With smart features enabled, you will be automatically alerted to reset your password in-case there’s a need.
