KAUST IT is excited to announce the completion of Phase 1 in our Exchange Online Migration project. All user mailboxes including user distribution groups have been transferred to Microsoft M365. Kindly contact the Email migration team at kems@kaust.edu.sa for any discrepancies.

As may already be aware, M365 Exchange Online has transformed many of our commonly used productivity applications to make it easier for you to study, work and collaborate. We have highlighted these below:

What NEW features do I get to benefit from?

• Larger storage for your inbox (100GB)
• Improved security, malware, and spam protection
• Integration with the full Office 365 suite of applications
• Outlook Calendar Free/Busy compatibility with G-Suite users (used by students and some faculty)
• Better manage your distributions groups (learn more here)
• New apps now available in the Office 365 suite, for example: To Do and Bookings
• @ Mentions in emails to tag someone directly in an email
• Microsoft Viva Insights and Daily Briefing Email

What is Microsoft Viva?

Microsoft Viva is a data-driven and privacy-protected employee experience platform powered by M365. Viva brings exciting new features enabling a new way for people to stay productive and continue delivering their best work. The Daily Briefing emails are one of Viva's features you might have already noticed.

The briefing email is delivered in your inbox near the start of the day from Microsoft Viva and connects you to personal productivity and wellbeing insights, learning recommendations, and more to help you prepare for the day and week ahead. Viva Briefing complies with Microsoft’s privacy rules which can be found at Microsoft’s GDPR compliance; or you may choose to opt out of these emails. You can easily do so by using this link and turning off the briefing email.
