Enable Single Sign-On (SSO) in Formstack

Single Sign-On (SSO) lets people access your form using their KAUST account. It can also automatically populate information such as their name, email address, department, and KAUST ID.

What SSO does

When SSO is enabled, access to the form is limited to people with an active KAUST account. You can also map identity information from their KAUST account to fields in your form so they do not need to enter it manually.

Before you start
Add the fields you want to auto-populate to your form first. You can return to the SSO settings later and select Edit SSO if you need to add or change field mappings.

Set up SSO and auto-population

Open your form
Open the Formstack form where you want to enable SSO.

Open the security settings
Select Settings, then select Security from the left-hand menu.

Enable SSO
Under Form Password, select Single Sign-On (SSO).

Select the KAUST login
Under Step 1: Select a Form Authentication, choose KAUST Login (SAML 2.0).

Map the fields you want to auto-populate
Under Step 2: Map single sign-on autofill fields to your form, drag the appropriate fields from your form into the SSO mapping fields.
Important: First Name and Last Name

Name fields work differently from the other SSO fields.

Do not map First Name or Last Name individually. Instead, use the Name field from the SSO mapping and drag your form's First Name and/or Last Name field into it. Formstack will then populate the name correctly.

Test your form before sharing it
Open the form as a respondent and sign in with your KAUST account. Confirm that access works and that each mapped field is populated correctly before publishing or distributing the form.
