IT Alert - Issue Affecting Some IT Services

03 September, 2026

Updated Thursday, 3 September 23:33

KAUST Community,

We are currently experiencing an infrastructure issue affecting several IT services.

The main impact to the Community is on scientific applications that rely on the central licensing service. Some applications may not open or may be unable to obtain a license.

Some integrations supporting the Integrated Fire Alarm System (IFAS) and Integrated Utilities Monitoring System (IUMS) are also affected. The responsible teams are aware, and there is currently no impact to the Community from these systems.

Now restored: The following services are working normally again:

  • Visitor Management System (VMS), including Drone Flight Request and Personal Visits
  • Integrated Campus Automation System (ICAS)
  • Resolver 911
  • GIS Map

The following services are not affected and continue to operate normally:

  • KAUST websites
  • Authentication and access to KAUST systems

Our teams are working to resolve the issue and restore the affected services as quickly as possible.

We will provide an update once services are back to normal.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.
